Wedding Welcome Signs

The welcome sign is the first thing your guests see. It is usually the first photo taken at the venue too, which is why it is worth making in something better than printed board.

We design and cut every welcome sign to order in Adelaide. Yours is drawn around your names, your date and your styling, mocked up for you to approve, then cut and hand-finished before it ships.

Sizes and pricing

Size Dimensions Price
A3 420 × 297mm $85
A2 594 × 420mm $140
A1 841 × 594mm $180

A1 reads clearly from across an entrance without dominating the space. A2 suits a smaller venue or a sign sitting on a table rather than an easel. Sizes in between are available on request, and anything larger is quoted as a custom piece.

Colours and finishes

Both the backing panel and the lettering can be chosen separately, which is where most of the character comes from. We cut 3mm acrylic as standard and 6mm where a piece needs more presence.

  • Gloss and matte acrylic in over 20 colours including black, white, cream, beige, burgundy, olive, mint, dusty blue and terracotta
  • Mirror acrylic in gold and silver
  • Frosted and clear, where the panel nearly disappears and the lettering appears to float
  • Timber and MDF for barn, garden and outdoor weddings

If you want a colour we do not stock, we source it.

Why the lettering sits raised

Laser cut script lettering bonded onto a sign panel, showing the raised edge and shadow

Our text is cut as separate acrylic pieces and bonded onto the panel rather than printed or vinyled flat. It sits physically proud of the surface, so under venue lighting it throws a soft shadow. That depth is what separates a laser cut sign from a printed one in photographs, and it is the reason people stop to look at them.

Shapes

Rectangular panels are standard. Arched panels suit almost every styling. We also cut circles, scallops and full custom silhouettes, so if your stationery has a shape to it we can carry that through to the sign.

Large-format welcome signs

2.1 metre book shaped wedding welcome sign made in Adelaide

We have built welcome signage up to 2.1 by 2.1 metres. At that size the panel is not a single acrylic sheet, since 3mm acrylic on its own is far too flimsy to hold itself. Large pieces are built on a timber or MDF backing with the acrylic face laminated to it, or in MDF that comes pre-laminated in melamine where the styling suits it. Our laser cut lettering is then applied and finished by hand.

Shape is no barrier at that size. If the sign needs an arch or a curve wider than the laser bed, we cut the profile with a router and other tooling and finish the edge by hand, so an oversized arched welcome sign is entirely possible.

Pieces this large are Adelaide-based by default because of how they travel. Interstate is possible but comes down to courier cost and venue access.

How long it takes

Standard A1 welcome signs take one to two weeks from order. Large custom commissions can run to a month or more because of the extra design and finishing work. Our calendar fills first in the lead-up to summer, so order earlier than feels necessary if your date falls in that stretch. A rush option is available when we have capacity.

Displaying your sign

Many venues have easels available, so ask yours before buying one. Smaller A3 signs sit well on a table, a plinth or a stack of books. For anything oversized we recommend letting us install it, which we can do across Adelaide.

Frequently asked questions

Can you match my invitations?

Yes. Send the suite through and we will match the typeface and the palette across your welcome sign and everything else you order.

Do I see it before it is made?

Always. You get a mockup of the finished sign and a couple of rounds of revisions. Nothing touches the laser until you have approved it.

Can I supply my own artwork?

Yes. We accept SVG, AI and DXF. Send it early and we will check it is cuttable before you commit.

Is shipping free?

We ship Australia-wide, though wedding signs are excluded from our free shipping threshold because of their size and the packing they need. Adelaide local delivery and venue installation are available.

What else should I order with it?

Pairing the welcome sign with a seating chart and a set of table numbers keeps the fonts and finishes consistent through the room.
